I can't believe I haven't updated since December.... actually, that's a bit of a lie, I can believe it!! Have been meaning to update, but Real Life got in the way. To cut a long story short, the first half of 2008 sucked big time for me, and if I had updated, it would have been just a sequence of "wah wah, moan moan, sob sob, poor me" posts (kind of like reading Dessie Farrell's autobiography - anyone other than helsinkibaby get that reference??)

Anyhoo, things have improved - due in no small part to the fact I changed jobs! Still with the same company, but I left the dept that I was in back in May, when my old boss (who I worked with for 8 and a half years) was promoted, and needed a PA. So he came to me and said, "I want you to come back and work for me. I know you, I trust you, you know me, you know how I work." So I went away, thought about it for a while (didn't want to completely burn bridges in leaving the dept I was in) but eventually it came down to the fact that I was miserably unhappy where I was, and working for him again couldn't be half as difficult as where I was. So I jumped back, and I'm so delighted that I did. I'm back out on site, it's closer to home than the Head Office, and the lads I'm working with are a brilliant brilliant bunch of guys. (And I'm the only girl, which is a bit weird, going from a dept of mostly girls!). But its so much better - they say what they say and it's done, no bitching behind your back or trying to decode hidden meanings / subtext in what was said!!

Am terribly behind in fandom stuff - the only show I'm up to date on is BSG (going to G4 was a great motivator to get caught up!). Have the first 3 eps of McLeods season 8 to watch, and the Spooks spin-off (which is meant to be quite good!)... will hopefully get some of that watched tonight / this weekend.

Am being terribly bold and posting this during my tea break at work - which is now over! Will hopefully manage to update this more regularly in future (I know, I know, I always say that!).

Thanks - I'm not sure how brave it was sometimes, it was more a matter of necessity; I had to get out of that department because it was doing my head in! (As one of my other mates said, when a job makes you cry, it's time to get out!) But the opportunity to move came along at the right time and I'm so glad I did!!

Have been keeping very well - was over at G4 a couple of weeks ago, which was brilliant. Saw the musical Wicked when we were over there as well, seats were 3 rows back from the stage so the view was spectacular!

I really want to con again - but it's £300, and I need to save for my elective in Canada. :(

Am so jealous about Wicked! - I read the book and completely fell in love.
