Almost had heart failure a few minutes ago; 2 year old niece was over watching YouTube on my iPhone, and when she handed it back to me I knew she'd managed to delete an icon, but not which one.

After dropping her home, I took out the phone, went to connect it to Wi-Fi.... and copped the icon she'd managed to delete was the Settings one.

Yanno, the one that's kind of important!!

Thank goodness for Google, from which I found out how to reset the home screen, which solved the problem.

The unfortunate flip side is that all my icons are now in different places, which is just killing my anal retentive, borderline OCD self!!

Ah well, I'll get used to it...

In other news, I downloaded Google Chrome onto the laptop this morning - holy moly, I'm in love! I think the Tumblr Saviour extension is going to be my new best friend....

And I've just remembered Smash starts in 20 minutes on Sky Atlantic, so guess what I'm off to watch!!

If I ever leave backing up my iphone so long again, can someone just please wallop me around the head with a length of unistrut?

Have spent the last 2 hours syncing and updating apps, and still haven't managed to download the latest software update!! That is going to be a job for Sunday......

Have spent most of this afternoonsetting up my brand new iPhone 4 - Holy Mary Mother of God, I am IN LOVE!!

You have to understand, I've had an iPhone 3G since December 2008. And I loves it - it is very much like another limb to me. But the last few months, it's been slow. (Slower than the M50 used to be on a rainy / snowy night, and believe me that is saying something!) And a lot of the newer apps that are coming out won't work on it (Pinterest, I'm looking at you) simply because the phone just doesn't have the firepower to run them.

Situation was slightly more complicated by the fact that my 3G was bought as a gift, and thus registered in my fathers name. Which meant he had to be with me to change the phone. And trying to get half an hour to do that is tougher than you may think!

So finally grabbed him this morning and went shopping.... and boy am I glad I did!!

Off to grab a bite to eat and then we're heading off to Navan to watch the (not-so) mighty men of Meath play Kildare - lets just say we're going more in hope than expectation!

Spent most of today trying to figure out how to set my e-mail account up on my shiny new iPhone - something that just had to be done, as Dad was making noises about how I should talk to the boys in IT about getting my company e-mail set up on it. I had to very gently and diplomatically tell him that I really didn't want to do that; managed to do so without using the phrase "Are you out of your frakking mind?!" which is always good!

It seemed an easy enough task when I was reading the instructions; I had reckoned without my service provider and their crappy crappy new webmail interface and their really crappy technical support page!! But after much tweaking, I figured it out, and I can now receive all my mails on my phone!! Yay!!! (cheapevilgirl, this means I shall become infinitely better at e-mailing you!! Be very very afraid, expecially as 24 starts over here next Monday!!!)

And because this just made me go "aww!" first thing this morning, the People.com article on DWTS' Maks and Karina getting engaged on New Years Eve:
