Spooks 9.01

Spooks is possibly the only show I watch that can have me be "meh" about its new season (seeing as its an almost entirely new cast and they have that regrettable habit of killing of my favourite characters) and then, by the end of the ep, be sitting bolt upright in front of the tv going:

WHAT IN THE FRICKETY FRACK IS THIS?!?!?!?

Show, I love you. Don't ever change.

(Except for, yanno, the killing off of favourite characters thing. You REALLY need to be stopping that.)

I loved the first season of Spooks but I couldn't get used to the format, I get too attached to the characters. That said, the writing of that show used to be top notch, and if it hasn't changed it must be amazing, if you can get used to the changing cast. I just couldn't keep watching after Matthew Macfadyen left.

The writing for it is still top notch; as I say it's just the whole killing off of my faves that gets to me (I can get used to the changing cast, but do they HAVE to keep coming up with new and inventive ways to kill them off? Can't they just leave????)

Matthew Macfadyen was amazing as Tom - Richard Armitage is the lead guy in it at the moment though, and he's brilliant :-)

I was looking through Spook's page at IMDb and I can't believe Ruth and Harry are still around, wow. Tom was awesome, I loved the first team and I can't do that again, get attached to a whole team to see how they get destroyed, I still miss Tom, Zoe and Danny. I shipped Tom/Zoe so hard, SO HARD.

Ruth left half-way through s5 (Nicola Walker was pregnant) - her leaving ep (505) was flipping brilliant, she came back at the start of last season (8). But I think if Peter Firth ever decided to leave, that'd be it for the show - I cannot see Spooks without Harry Pearce.

I loved Tom/Zoe too!! And Danny.... oh God, I still can't think of his last ep without welling up....
