More GL casting news....

According to Daytime Confidential, the following three iconic characters may be making their return to the show in the near future:

Maureen Garrett (Holly)
Peter Simon (Ed Bauer)
RICK HEARST (Alan-Michael Spaulding)

Do I even need to tell you how happy this makes me, especially the last one??? I've been crossing my fingers and toes for this since GH bumped Rick to recurring (and even before then). Seeing A-M and Phillip sparring again would be made of epic win!

DC goes on to say that Ed would be back for a big Bauer BBQ that's being planned. (I guess this also ties in with the Manny return) As yet there's no word on Maureen Garrett's story, but she's indicated she'd be happy to come back.

I really really hope this comes to pass.....

Wow! GH are going to be really pissed off!!

I guess they'll be rewriting the Alexis/Molly/Kristina/Rick stuff that was coming up unless he can do both, but I don't see GH being too keen on including him when he's also on GL.

Hmm, I actually can't decide whether this was a good move on Rick's part or not. If GL doesn't find a new home it'll be short term and if he'd stuck with GH at least there's a chance he'd have more work...

I'm going to enjoy this! :D

to be brutally honest, he hasn't been treated all that well by GH, so it doesn't surprise me that he'd be open to coming back as A-M. And they've bumped him to recurring, which would be a big factor I'd think - look at JVD going to One Life To Live

Also, if GL does get picked up somewhere else, he's frontburner again there because you know that EW and her team is going to write for him and use him.

I was surprised in that he's been fairly vocal about wanting to stay on the west coast for family reasons; then again if GL does wrap in September it is only a short term thing. And who knows, maybe there is a deal to be worked out with ABC. Long term or short term, I think the majority of GL fans would go loop the loop if he came back!

All of which is to say I really really really hope this happens!!! (not sure if that was clear or not!!)

I get that I really do, but long term prospects wise it does kind of seem like sticking it out with GH would be the better idea, but don't get me wrong, I'm pretty pleased this is the way things are happening!

I will say though, I don't think GH will use him again now, not once he's appeared on GL. They do get fairly cranky about their version of loyalty!
