I can honestly say I never in a million years saw this soap news coming:

After 25 years, Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester) has decided to quit The Bold and The Beautiful

Link is here:

After the first initial thought of "Holy Feck", I think this could be a brilliant opportunity for the show - if they have the guts to kill (or "kill") Ridge off. For sure, you'd be looking at an Emmy for Katherine Kelly Lang; I still think she should've won for the work she did when Storm died (and God, this news must be so hard for her).

I don't think they'll recast - after 25 years, Ronn Moss is Ridge Forrester. I think they'll go presumed dead and then after a while, if Ronn doesn't wish to return, recast then.

One thing I would love to see that will never happen out of this - Thorne (Winsor Harmon) getting a storyline.

I was waiting for your reaction!

I think this could really be an excellent opportunity to reboot the show, focus on other characters. I might actually watch again if I don't have to see a Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle anymore!

I do however think this could lead to others going. Susan Flannery hasn't exactly been shy about saying she might retire in a next couple of years, I wonder if this news might push that up...

Oh, I'm definitely going to be watching when this hits the screen, I think it's going to bring some really good drama (I'm going on the basis that he'll be presumed dead rather than go overseas or something like that, if I were the writers I would milk this for all it is worth!)

Like you say, it's a great opportunity to reboot; no more Triangle of Doom is a bonus! It'll free up his salary to bring in other actors - though B&B do have a dreadful habit of signing great actors and doing sweet FA with them, which is one of the shows great failings.

I share your worry about Susan Flannery; she's such a huge part of the show for me - even when I hate what Stephanie is up to, I love watching Susan Flannery because she's so flipping good!!
