DWTS season 10 so far.....
Apr. 10th, 2010 12:50 pmAs anyone who follows me on Twitter will know, I've developed a bit of an addiction to Dancing with the Stars (considering I have an addiction to Strictly, that is realloy no surprise!)
Favourite couples so far are Erin & Maks (points to icon) - I love their partnership, I love the banter between them :
Maks: This always happens. They ask for me, and then they regret it.
Erin: I didn't ask for you! I asked for Tony!!
Erin: (after Carrie Ann tells her to relax her death grip on Maks arm) "He kept telling me to hold on to his bicep, and I couldn't find it!"
It is entirely possible that Maks' ego may not make it through season 10 intact....
I also love Evan and Anna - so glad she got a contender this year - and Niecy and Louis have a special place in my heart; their waltz this week was beautiful, and I've adored Louis since last season when he danced with Kelly Osbourne.
Derek & Nicole are perplexing me - she's a great dancer, but she's also the ringiest ringer who ever rang!! The jive in week 2 was fantastic, but I don't think it was worthy of busting out the 10 paddles that early in the season. Also, this weeks quickstep was WILDLY overmarked - they did a lift, they broke hold halfway through, it was more like a charleston than a quickstep - and they get an 8 from Carrie Ann and a 9 from Bruno? Come on!! Len's 6 was more like it. It pains me to say it, because she is such a good dancer, but if the judges don't ease off she's not going to make it to the final, in fact I'd be putting money on her for a shock mid-season boot.
As for Kate Gosselin, I believe I've made my feelings perfectly clear: FREE TONY DOVOLANI!!!!!!
And for those of you who want to see what I'm on about, here are some vids:
Erin & Maks: ChaChaCha Foxtrot Waltz
Evan & Anna: Viennese Waltz Jive Quickstep
Niecy & Louis' Waltz
Nicole & Derek: Jive Quickstep (that is not a quickstep)
And because it's too damn good not to link to it, in this weeks results show Reba McEntire performed two songs, Dimtry Chaplin and Lacey Schwimmer performed a rumba to the second song, "Consider Me Gone". If you watch no other vid I've linked to in this post, watch this one. It is just completely amazing - fabulous, fabulous dancing! Consider Me Gone

Date: 2010-04-11 11:12 am (UTC)I'd be happy if Evan & Anna won; though as I've said, Maks & Erin are the team of my heart (I adore Maks, just can't help it!)

Date: 2010-04-11 11:18 am (UTC)If you watch the blow-up (I linked to it in a post last week, I think its titled something imaginative like "Poor poor Tony") you can see that he did not want to be there when he came back in, I firmly believe that higher ups at ABC told him he HAD to go back or they'd sue him. Also interesting to see how its edited, because its obvious there was way more to that then we saw; there's one point where she's all "You're not hearing me" and he very quietly says "I've been hearing you all day" - would LOVE to see the unedited footage.
And now I have rambled on. Apologies :-)
