Have spent the last few days dying (and I do not use that word lightly) with the nasty vomiting bug that's going around - left work last Wednesday feeling absolutely lousy, went to bed at 8.30 that evening - having not been able to eat dinner - and was up at 2.30 being violently ill. Was in bed all day Thursday, the majority of Friday and most of Saturday. It was Sunday before I managed to get out of my pajamas! Stayed off work today just to be sure I'm 100%, so I'll be back tomorrow. (Yippee.....)

In fandom news, I see that Marcy Rylan (ex-Lizzie on Guiding Light) is joining Y&R as the SORAS-ed Abby Carlton, daughter of Ashley and Brad. (Link) To be honest, I've got mixed feelings on this - on one hand, I'm delighted for Marcy. And the thought of her possibly sharing scenes with John Driscoll's Chance makes my GL loving heart skip a beat. And since they killed off all the Carltons last year, Abby's core family will be the Abbotts (oooh, scenes with Peter Bergman please!) All that being said, I think that at 29, Marcy might be a little bit too oldto play someone who's supposed to be in her early teens (even though she looks fab. This is why I hate SORASing!!)

Also, Eden Riegel is joining the cast as a recast Heather - sounds like someone at Y&R is listening to viewer opinion!

I'm sure there's more I wanted to say, but I can't think on it now (other than I'm still trying to get used to typing on this new laptop keyboard and its driving me crazy!!!)

Wait they are still gonna try to pass Abby off as a teen. IA with you she's too old to play a teen. But I'm happy non the less to have her back on soaps. I didn't care one way or another for the current Abby.

IDK how I feel about this. I actually like Val Bloom's Heather. I'm not sure why the change other then it's Eden Riegel. And word is she turned down AMC. Not that I blamed her after what they did to Binks's character.

Sorry to hear you've been sick, but glad you are feeling better!

I'm not too sure about them make Abby so much older, but I love Marcy so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I look forward to her sharing scenes with John Driscoll as well. :)

They're aging Abby to early 20's, which I can see Marcy playing. But the fact they're SORASing Hope and none of the other kids in that age bracket just completely screws everything up (much like GL, where all of a sudden Marina is older than Susan/Daisy. WTF???)

ITA about the Heather recast - it's just because Eden Riegel.

Am delighted to see Marcy back on TV, but I really don't like that they've chosen Hope to age. If they hadn't been so stupid and short-sighted as to kill off Colleen, she would have been a great recast for that role. The problem with aging Hope is that it throws off the ages for the other kids they're not SORASing, which makes me so crazy!!

You see, THIS is a great example of why I should not post comments before I go to bed....

I meant they're SORASing Abby, I have no idea where Hope came from (unless I was thinking B&B...) SORASing baby Hope would be all kinds of effed up, even for soaps!!
