It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas.....

Don't worry, I haven't lost my mind! Nor, like cheapevilgirl am I working in a place which already has Christmas decorations up. 

Nope, I got home from work last night to discover that not only had my latest order from amazon.com arrived (S2 Veronica Mars and the new Clay Aiken cd) but so had the DVD's that cheapevilgirl mailed me last Thursday!!!

Hence the Christmas feeling - lots of lovely goodies for me to play with!! Including the pilots of Studio 60 and Heroes - having seen the trailer for Heroes whoich Greg brought to AR3, I can't wait to see the whole thing!! 

Listened to the Clay cd on my drive to work this morning - and there was much joyful squeeing! (Unusual at that hour of the morning on the M50!) 14 songs on all, 4 of them originals - but the great thing about the covers is that they're not straight covers, he puts his own spin on them. For example, he does Dolly Parton's "Here You Come Again", which I love - but it's a slower version than Dolly's; and I never thought that would work but it does! And he makes me like "Without You"  - never liked the original Nillson version, and Mariah Carey's vocal histrionics makes me stick my fingers in my ears! Plus he covers "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" which always makes me think of Another World's Cass and Frankie.

Which is what every artist that does covers should do. Tori Amos is famous for taking songs and making them her own. I have to say I'm not crazy about all the covers abut I do love most of the album.

And I'm glad you got everything okay.

Plus he covers "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" which always makes me think of Another World's Cass and Frankie.
