Another reason to watch Y&R...

Michael Muhney (formerly Sheriff Don Lamb on Veronica Mars) has landed the recast role of Adam Newman on Y&R.

This follows the previous Adam, Chris Engen, allegedly walking off set a couple of days ago (apparently upset with the direction of his storyline; spec is that he flipped out over having to kiss the guy who plays Rafe, but he's apparently been unhappy for a while.)

So, to recap: first they cast John Driscoll. Then they pull off the hugest secret in getting Thom Bierdz back. And now Michael Muhney is joining.

Y&R is definitely becoming must see tv for me!

I know exactly what you mean - from what I've read on some of the soap sites, he's been unhappy for a while, but that's still absolutely no excuse to behave so unprofessionally.

I'd say he's going to get sued from here to kingdom come....

I suspect even he doesn't seem to know how to say what he wants to say, it's just all rambling.

Not to mention I'd quite like to know what "unpresidented" pressures they were putting him under.

I did indeed - saw it earlier on today, am trying to work out whta I think about it - he managed to make quite a long statement without saying anything at all!!!

I think that it may not have been the kiss itself he had a problem with, but more the fact that Adam was going to be manipulating Rafe and this was the straw thta broke the camels back, as he'd been unhappy for a while. (And I can't say I blame him....)

So it is true about Adam and Rafe. I've been hearing rumors but I haven't check AfterElton in a week and I'm so not checked it until they stop crying foul over Kris's win last night. And I almost did a jig when I read that Lamb got the role.

I knew about John Driscoll but not about Thom Bierdz. But that's not shocking given he is the way Lily/Cane's wedding ended.

I am also loving Y&R ever since they got Jack/Sharon back together and Nick/Phyllis back on track. Also love that they finally fixed the mess they made with Mac/Billy all those years ago. I know tons of people love Billy/Chloe but I can't help but want things to work out for Billy/Mac.

Looks like the Adam/Rafe rumour was true - mind you, I've also heard that Rafe could be paired with John Driscoll's P4 or Thom's P3, so who knows??

Apparently Thom's back for a year; if you look at the Advocate online they have a really good interview with him when he talks about coming back to the show - wonderfully cryptic, gives nothing away but REALLY makes you want to watch!!

Ah, the Kris backlash - I had to stop reading the threads on TWOP because it was so bad. (For the record, I don't think Adam lost because he is / might be gay. I think Kris just appealed to a lot more people in general, and I'd say a lot of Danny's fans voted for him as well.)

Plus which, they're BOTH winners in a way - Kris wins the show, Adam gets to go on and make HIS album on HIS terms. Plus he doesn't have to sing that SUCKTASTIC "No Boundaries" ever again! (Though I thought that he sang the better version of it on the night....)

ITA Danny fans went with the lesser of two evils for them. Not saying there aren't those people that didn't vote for Adam because he's gay. But he made it to the finals which means a majority of the people didn't give a damn who he sleeps with. I just caught a clip of him on Leno (who I hate with a passion) from last night. Have to go find the article in the morning. I had totally forgotten that Thom was out and had been for years. Not that it matter. I really loved that when Clementine Ford joined why as Mac they didn't even both printing that she had came out only a couple months before. I think this country is finally turning a corner.

I think the writers have been making a mess of Adam's character for awhile. So I think going this direction with him may do the same thing for Adam it did for GL's Natalie. Cause what GL did taking a character that had no other reason to be on the show other then to break up GusH and turning her into one of the strongest female charcters on the show. There aren't words for how much I'm in love with those writers.

Totally OT but I've started watching Gossip Girl with Jodie. We've only seen the first two episodes so far but we should get through it by the end of the summer or in two weeks. But so far I really like it. Kind of shocked at how much I don't hate Serena. I mean she gets on my nevers but no where near what Marissa did. And her and Dan are cute together. But please please tell me Nate's hair doesn't stay that way for the whole season?
