Have just spent the last two and a bit hours devouring Kim Zimmer's memoir I'm Just Sayin' : Three Deaths, Seven Husbands and a Clone - My Life as a Soap Opera Diva

If you are at all a fan of Guiding Light, you have simply got to read this book.

As you'd expect, there's a lot in it about the final days of GL, Kim doesn't mince her words when it comes to the subject of Ellen Wheeler, GL's Exec Producer for the last 5 years of it's life. On the other hand, she shares great anecdotes about a number of her co-stars, and there's a lovely chapter where she talks about co-stars who have since passed away (Beverlee McKinsey, Larry Gates, Chris Bernau and of course, the wonderful Michael Zaslow.)

Of course, there are stories she tells where she doesn't name names, but it's pretty obvious who she's talking about.... (the co-star who fell in love with every single one of her leading men was widely rumoured at the time....)

It's a hugely enjoyable read - cannot recommend it highly enough!

Ooh! When was this book released? I'd love to read it. Kim has always been known to be ballsy. She doesn't have any qualms about telling people what she thinks. In fact that's always been an issue for some people (not me, I love when people have the self-confidence and intelligence to speak their mind.) Oh and which co-star do you think it is? I don't believe I heard that rumor before.

The book literally only came out on Tuesday - I have the Kindle for iPad app, which is how I was able to get my hands on it so quickly, rather than waiting from Amazon to ship the hardback to me! It is a brilliant read - typical Kim, she speaks her mind (and I love that about her too)

The co-star is fairly obviously Beth Ehlers - Kim says that the nameless co-star fell in love with one co-star when she was married to her first husband and left him for that co-star, only for it not to work out. (That was Mark Derwin, the original Mallet).

Kim says she married someone outside the industry, only to have an affair with another co-star. They were supposed to leave their partners - she left her husband, he got cold feet & didn;t leave his wife, which left Nameless Co-star very bitter and a nightmare to work with. (That exact rumour went round at the time and it was alledegly Rob Bogue - the new Mallet!! Who later went on to get involved with and marry Mandy Bruno, Marina on the show!)

You should read the book - it's really good; very conversational tone, I literally flew through it!
