Have just looked around Twitter, and noticed people getting very irate that they've been spoiled for the series finale of Dr Who by other peoples tweets showing up in their timelines.

Am I the only person who reads that and thinks "if you haven't watched it, for whatever reason, what the heck are you doing on Twitter where you know full well the chances of being spoiled are very high indeed?"

If I think I'm going to be spoiled on twitter, I either (a) avoid or (b) scroll very fast & read the tweets with one eye open!

But if I get spoiled, I know I've no-one to blame but myself!

Have also seen the same thing on FB, which I'll agree is inconsiderate in the extreme.... not everyone can watch as it's aired, especially if you're not in the UK/Ireland.

But complaining that Twitter has spoiled you is to me, just bonkers.

OMG! Is it time for the series finale already? I'm in the US and don't have BBCAmerica so I have to download all the episodes. Getting spoiled is a way of life for me. LOL I usually know much more than I want to about the show before I can watch. Like tonight, my friends are watching on BBCAmerica, but I have to wait until tomorrow. It doesn't really bug me too much to get spoiled because it's always better to watch it yourself. I find things all the time that my friends miss. I still can't believe we're at the end already... :( I'm sad now. Especially because I get the feeling (just a feeling, no spoilers) that Rory and Amy's time with the Doctor might be running out.

From what I can make out, they've split this series - 7 eps now and the rest in the autumn - rather than air all 13 at once.

Getting spoiled is a way of life for me too - it usually takes a few weeks before most US shows air in Ireland; though there are some like Glee that air the next day. But I'm usually spoiled for stuff on Twitter, which is fair enough - if it's something I absolutely must watch spoiler-free, I take an Internet break till I've seen it!

AGREEEEEED! If you go on twitter you are just asking to be spoiled unless you scroll fast (like I do with the F1 when I'm not watching it live).

LJ is a different matter as things should be behind cuts, facebook is.. difficult but again like twitter a little harder to avoid sometimes! Sheesh.

Oh, thank god it's not just me so! It's just so simple to me, if you don't want to be spoiled stay off Twitter!!

On LJ, stuff should absolutely be behind cuts. No excuses. (though one time last year I posted something about glee which someone wasn't happy about, she considered song titles a spoiler, I didn't. But I edited the post to put in a cut tag anyway.... No biggie!)

Facebook is a tough one. Spoilers are hard to avid because there's no cut system - I just think people should have a bit of common sense and maybe try to be a bit vague posting reactions there (mind you, I use FB mainly for keeping in touch with people, my tannish stuff is all here!!)

Song titles are spoilers? Huh. Wouldn't have thought that to be honest.

Yeah I don't post much fannish stuff on facebook - I try and keep it and my "fannish" life seperate. So far as sci-fi/fandom/fic etc are concerned. The closest I come to fannish on Facebook is having my DOI pictures and friends on there!
